In Portland's most eclectic dining room food will be unleashed April 12th.
Seek The Unique is well known for re-introducing authentic pieces of history from a refreshing perspective. At their monthly dinners, friends of the store are invited to experience the simplicity of a meal prepared from fresh ingredients, but always with a rewarding unexpected twist. The partnership with Jamie Snell, owner of Lambs Table Catering provides an experience that is thoroughly genuine and deserving of the rating: Simon Pure.
Visitors to the store are routinely greeted by Cotton and Amber, the owner's two dogs. This April they extend the invitation to your dogs as well when the Simon Pure Dinner celebrates the release of Rick Woodford's new book Feed Your Best Friend Better.
Whether it's a homemade treat, a meal or the right scraps off the cutting board, Feed Your Best Friend Better returns pet owners to the idea of sharing real wholesome ingredients with their dogs. With 85 recipes including simple casseroles and slow cooked stews, it's not gourmet, it's gour-mutt!
Rick will work alongside Jamie to create a simple meal for pets, utilizing many of the same ingredients Jamie will be serving for human diners. Meanwhile Andrea Jones, the store's proprietor, will carve out dining spaces at the table - and on the floor - from the store's furnishings.
Well behaved and socialized dogs are welcome to attend. BYO beer or wine. $35 per person. Pets dine at no charge but should be fed half their regular meal at home before the dinner bell rings at 7 pm.
